With great sadness we announce that on Monday, March 31, 2014, Daniel F. Comly, Sr. passed away peacefully among his children at the age of 87. Dan was a renowned and respected business owner and auctioneer for over fifty years. In 1946, he joined his grandfather Samuel and his father William and became the fifth generation of their family owned auction business. He was able to pass along his business acumen and impeccable work ethic to four of his sons that eventually joined the firm.
His commitment to the auction profession and adherence to business values was honored by the Pennsylvania Auctioneers Association when he was named Auctioneer of the Year in 1987 and further celebrated by his induction into the Hall of Fame in 2010 when his many years of service to the auction industry was recognized.
In addition to 12 children, 48 grand-children, and 17 great-grand-children, Dan Comly leaves behind a life-long legacy of service to the auction
industry and a business that continues to thrive in the hands of the next generation of Comly auctioneers. Along with his sons, three of his
